Small business bookkeeping and support questions

Everything about how TCC Small Business works: what it does, what it doesn't do, pricing, packages, service area and how to get started. If your question isn't here, email info@tccsmallbusiness.ca.

What does TCC Small Business do?

TCC Small Business provides fractional operations for small businesses that need help managing the day-to-day work behind the scenes: administrative support, operations coordination, financial operations support, vendor coordination, SOP and documentation development and HR and benefits administration. The goal is simple: help business owners spend less time on paperwork, processes and coordination and more time running their business.

What's fractional operations?

Fractional operations gives you access to experienced business support without hiring a full-time employee. Instead of paying for a full-time position, you receive dedicated monthly support based on the needs of your business. This provides flexibility while reducing payroll costs, overhead and administrative burden.

What's the difference between a virtual assistant and fractional operations?

A virtual assistant typically focuses on completing individual tasks as requested. Fractional operations takes a broader approach, helping manage and coordinate the systems, processes, documentation, vendors and administrative functions that keep a business running smoothly. The goal isn't simply task completion; it's structure, organization and operational consistency behind the scenes.

What types of businesses does TCC Small Business work with?

TCC Small Business works best with:

  • Small teams needing ongoing support
  • Trades and service businesses
  • Growing businesses needing more operational structure
  • Business owners overwhelmed by administrative work and coordination

Support is customized to fit each business and can evolve as needs change.

Can TCC Small Business help trades and contractor businesses?

Yes. TCC Small Business works with trades, contractors and service businesses that need help managing vendor invoices, subcontractor coordination, documentation, administrative processes and back-office organization. The goal is to keep business owners focused on the work they do best while the operational details stay organized behind the scenes. See vendor coordination and financial operations support.

No. TCC Small Business doesn't provide payroll processing, accounting, tax preparation or tax filing. Bookkeeping & Forecasting covers the operational, day-to-day side of your finances: bookkeeping, invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, transaction and expense tracking and audit-ready records. TCC keeps everything tax-ready and hands off cleanly to your accountant or payroll provider.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. TCC Small Business operates remotely and supports businesses across Canada. Remote support allows businesses to access experienced operational assistance without geographic limitations or the cost of an in-house position.

How do I get started?

Email info@tccsmallbusiness.ca or use the contact page and tell me what's taking up too much of your time. You can go straight into any service or if you aren't sure where to begin, start with an optional Assessment, a focused $250 session that maps your business, finds the bottlenecks and gives you a written action plan and fixed-price quote. If you move forward with any ongoing service within 30 days, the fee is credited toward it.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term contract is required. Most clients work with TCC Small Business on a month-to-month basis, allowing support levels and service areas to adjust as business needs change. For businesses looking for ongoing support, a 6-month commitment option is available and may qualify for discounted pricing.

What payment methods do you accept?

Invoices are payable by e-Transfer or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Payment details will be provided on your invoice.

How do you handle confidentiality?

Your business information stays private. TCC handles financial records, employee documents and internal systems every day and treats all of it as confidential. Access is limited to what's needed to do the work and details are never shared outside your business.

What are your turnaround times?

Ongoing monthly work is handled within the agreed schedule for your support hours. For anything time-sensitive, we set expectations up front so you always know when to expect it. Catch-up and cleanup projects are scoped with a clear timeline during your assessment.
